Youth Acolytes

Children and youth, 3rd grade and above, are welcome to join us Sunday morning as youth acolytes. Acolytes serve in pairs at the 10 a.m. service. This is a wonderful way for children to become more involved in worship. Email Reverend Emily Lloyd for more information.

Altar Guild

At St. Peter’s, our Altar guild is a volunteer group of the parish whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services, and clean up afterwards. Altar Guild members frequently supervise the decoration of the sanctuary for special occasions.

Flower Guild

St. Peter’s Flower Guild arranges the altar flowers and any other special flowers in the church for our liturgies. Members are  trained in periodic workshops. The Flower Guild accepts memorial gifts to dedicate flowers in memory of loved ones. After Sunday services, members of guild often deliver the flowers to shut ins, nursing home patients, and people in the hospital.

Ushers

The Ushers are responsible for warmly welcoming parishioners and visitors to worship services. They are also responsible for bell ringing, escorted seating, handing out bulletins, collecting the offering, directing the orderly flow of persons to the altar during communion, and assisting the clergy in identifying newcomers and visitors.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs) assist the clergy in distributing the bread and wine during the celebration of Holy Communion. To serve as a LEM, a person must be 16 years of age or older,  and regularly attend worship. LEMs are asked to commit to serving one Sunday a month.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) visit and administer communion to those parishioners who are unable to attend services either temporarily or long-term. Please let the office know of anyone in need of this ministry.

Lectors

Lectors joyfully proclaim God’s Word to the congregation, reading from the Old Testament and New Testament. Lectors are asked to commit to serving approximately once a month. Sunday readings will be provided in advance so they can be pre-read and practiced at home.

St. Peter’s Choir

The St. Peter’s Choir is our adult choir which sings Sundays from September through June as well as special services during Holy Week, and Christmas Eve. Choir rehearsals are on Sunday morning after the 10:30 a.m. service. For more information please email our Music Director, Daniel Weatherholt.
